Why I write
I currently work for an Answering Service company out of Atlanta, GA. One of the things I've come to learn while working here is that many companies ignore the most important aspect of their business - communication with customers. Everyone knows the saying that you only get one chance to make a first impression but few actually put it into practice when it comes to their business. These days, the first relational contact your customers will likely have with your business is over the telephone. Unfortunately, many companies don't take this crucial role seriously and consequently wonder why their business is stagnating.
Outside of work I love to travel, see the world, and experience new things. My interests are varied and span everything from ham radio, to foreign languages, and literature. Over the course of my life I've learned that one individual can have a significant impact on the lives of others and that impact may be the most important accomplishment of your life.
As a child my family moved quite a bit so I'm a bit northern and a bit southern. I ended up attending Columbia where I received a degree in Electrical Engineering. My first job was with a major computer company and I worked there until I decided to make a change and pursue a career in teaching. After spending many years as an educator, I've now found myself back in corporate America. I'm working at an innovative company, in a fast paced environment, as a corporate trainer. It is truly the most rewarding work I've ever done. In my current position I get to help people gain skills with immediate, tangible benefits. I'm able to impact the lives of others in ways that help them, their families, and the company I'm working for.
I hope the articles I've written, on topics that interest me, are helpful to people and benefit them in some way. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email me at my email address below.
